DOT vs. Non-DOT Testing: What’s the Difference?
DOT testing is federally regulated and required for employees in transportation and safety-sensitive roles. It follows strict guidelines from agencies like the FMCSA, FAA, and PHMSA. All DOT drug screens and physicals are reported directly to the Department of Transportation and follow regulated protocol using federal CCFs.
Non-DOT testing applies to general workforce employees and offers more flexibility in panel types and reporting processes. We’re experienced in both and can help you stay compliant with confidence.
Support for Employers and TPAs
We work hand-in-hand with:
- Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) – Handling results, billing, and compliance
- Medical Review Officers (MROs) – For lab-reviewed confirmation testing
- Designated Employer Representatives (DERs) – Ensuring consistent communication
- Workers’ Compensation Carriers & Adjusters – Providing timely treatment, documentation, and coordination for on-the-job injuries
Workers’ Compensation Support
When workplace injuries happen, MainStreet Family Care is here to help your employees recover quickly—and get back to work safely. Our clinics are equipped to treat most non-emergency injuries on-site and are experienced in the documentation and communication required for workers’ compensation cases.
We coordinate directly with Workers’ Compensation Carriers, Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), and Adjusters to ensure timely treatment, follow-ups, and proper reporting. Our team is trained to handle injuries such as:
- Strains and sprains
- Lacerations and abrasions
- Contusions or blunt trauma
- Back and joint pain
- Minor fractures (via on-site X-ray)
We follow structured return-to-work protocols and keep employers informed every step of the way. All injury care visits are documented using our standardized TRESS (Test Results and Examination Summary Sheet) for consistency and compliance.
